Opinion: ViewPoint - Be clear over Heathrow terminal six plans

Z'est MD Marc Prema-Ratner criticises the Government's comms strategy in regard to the planned expansion of Heathrow airport.

Prema-Ratner contends that following the release of controversial plans for a sixth terminal and third runway at Heathrow in 2015, the Government should have been more honest about its intentions.

In this week's podcast, available at www.prweek.com/uk, he says: 'The Government's PR slant and primary key message was that it wanted the hub to be a world-class airport.'

He accuses the Government of paying lip service to lobbyists and activists, adding: 'It doesn't come out with a robust policy statement through clear-cut media channels.'

Prema-Ratner concludes: 'Where are the PR gurus and the spin-meisters of the Government whose job it is to communicate to the general public? Maybe they are still circling around our air space waiting for that elusive landing slot.'
