Edelman signs Tory green guru

Conservative leader David Cameron's "quality-of-life" guru has joined Edelman as a senior strategic adviser.

Jules Peck, who is director of Cameron's quality-of-life policy group, will advise the agency and its clients on res-ponsible business.

Before joining the group, which focuses on ‘the environment and social unease', Peck worked for five years as global policy adviser at the WWF, helping devise its global environmental strategy.

‘The appointment is not about beefing up CSR strategy,' said Edelman UK CEO Robert Phillips. ‘Jules will
focus on responsibility in all its guises and demonstrate how doing the right thing is good for business.'

Peck said he and Phillips had ‘very similar ideas about the powerful role companies such as Edelman can play in helping their clients and their clients' customers bec-ome more sustainable'.

Peck will work for two days a week in the role while he maintains his position as director of the quality-of-life policy group.
