DIARY: PROs are all shook up in Manchester

On a lighter note, and riding the crest of the cultural wave like a cryogenics experiment thawed after a decade of slumber, the Manchester PR scene is apparently devoid of innovation and in dire need of shaking up.

First Nina Wheeler 'shook it up' with her agency Brazen (PRWeek, 30 September 2006). Then Vertigo founder Nathalie Bagnall said 'it's about time someone bold shook up' the Manchester PR scene (25 May 2007).

And now ex-Brazen senior account director Jennifer O'Grady, who this week founded a PR agency called Democracy, told Diary it was time 'someone shook up the Manchester PR scene'.

Apparently the Manchester PR scene will soon resemble something from behind the bar of a 1980s Tom Cruise movie. Diary hopes that these over-excited Manc PROs will shortly enter a period of quiet calm.
