MC2 specialises in B2B and professional services PR. Bagnall said the deal was worth around six figures over a period of time, the figure being a combination of shares in MC2 and money - a 'long-term' deal rather than cash up front.
Vertigo launched less than a year ago (PRWeek, 30 March 2007). Its four staff moved into MC2's premises on Monday, when the deal was struck.
MC2 is now almost 40-strong and its brand division will be called Vertigo.
Bagnall takes the role of MD at MC2, with the incumbent, Mike Perls, moving to a CEO role.
MC2's brand division was five-strong before the acquisition, with clients including Krispy Kreme in the Manchester area. Vertigo clients now joining the fold include Deva Technologies, Chesshire Chauffer Services and Richard Goodall Gallery.
- Also in Manchester, Jennifer O'Grady, a former Brazen account director, has launched consumer agency Democracy. It specialises in social and traditional media.
