Exposure pays thousands over Kidman scent row

Consumer agency Exposure has been forced to pay thousands of pounds for its involvement in a spat between The Daily Telegraph newspaper and actress Nicole Kidman, currently the face of Chanel.

The row began late last year when The Daily Telegraph reported that Kidman's favourite perfume was made by Exposure client Jo Malone. It went on to claim that the actress had been applying the scent at recent press junkets.

Kidman subsequently won substantial damages in a claim against the newspaper.

Exposure is believed to have been the source of the information about Kidman's love of Jo Malone, having put out a press release saying the star has been 'wearing her White Jasmine & Mint cologne everywhere she goes'.

The agency has been in talks with the newspaper and is believed to have settled on around £20,000. Despite the incident, Exposure continues to be retained by the fragrance company.
