Horror revisited

A former BBC head of special projects is to help relaunch the cult horror studio Hammer Films. Ian Johnson Publicity has been hired by the studio as it prepares to release its first film in more than 20 years. The agency has been tasked with promoting Hammer Films' Beyond the Rave (pictured), a vampire movie featuring British actress Sadie Frost that will be released as 'webisodes' on MySpace. The agency will focus on a consumer and online media push. Hammer, best known for its camp horror B-movies The Curse of Frankenstein and Dracula, was bought out last year by John De Mol, the Dutch businessman behind Endemol and the creator of Channel 4 TV's Big Brother. The studio was previously owned by Charles Saatchi.
