Southwark, which has recently been the subject of much negative publicity, is undergoing a four-month review to be completed on 6 April.
Westminster head of comms Alex Aiken said: ‘They believe there are issues they need to address.’Aiken added that the council wishes the borough to be better publicised nationally.
Southwark's head of comms Sue Appleby is leaving in April. Her next move is not known.
Public sector PR professional Ian Farrow, MD of Jumping Dog Communications, is managing the review on behalf of Westminster.
Four Westminster members of staff are also involved. Southwark council was criticised in December for treating hundreds of staff to a ‘gastronomic dinner’ at London’s Vinopolis.
