Gavin Anderson (GA) director Keith Brookbank has left the agency after a decade at the firm to join City rivals Powerscourt.

Brookbank joins as a director, reporting into Powerscourt founder Rory Godson. He leads the technology and media team alongside former Sunday Times financial editor Paul Durman.

‘After more than ten years at one agency I thought it was time to look somewhere else and Powerscourt is fast-growing,’ said Brookbank.

During his time at GA, he advised clients including insurance and financial services company The Hartford. In his new role, Brookbank will still advise on some financial services clients, initially working on handsets maker Sepura and venture capital firm Balderton Capital.

GA was Brookbank’s first PR role, before which he held a corporate sales role at Psion (now Symbian).

Brookbank follows fellow Powerscourt staff member Marie Cairney, who left GA in October to join its financial and banking team (PRWeek, 2 November). Cairney spent seven years working for GA in Tokyo, before moving to its London office three years ago.

GA featured highly in a recent report into PR specialists’ salaries (PRWeek, 16 November). Willott Kingston Smith’s survey, which takes details of a company’s ‘employment costs per employee’, showed City agencies dominated the chart. GA sat third at £112,862 per employee, with its highest paid director earning £491,000.
