Alstom drafts in agency help

A company that claims to supply equipment for around 25 per cent of the world’s power generation capacity, has brought in an agency to highlight its work on climate change.

Chatsworth Communications will advise Alstom on media and corporate comms as it holds a ‘knowledge sharing workshop’ in London on its carbon capture technologies for UK journalists in coming months.

Alstom is developing technologies that capture CO2 to prevent it reaching the atmosphere. It focuses on post-combustion and oxy-combustion technologies, as these can be added to existing power stations to meet increasing global dem­and, especially from dev­eloping countries.

Alstom is currently subject to merger rumours between it and nuclear power plant maker Areva.
