Sarah Williams will be responsible for both internal and external comms for the broadcaster’s magazine stable, which includes well-known titles Radio Times and Top Gear.
Williams will work closely with BBC Worldwide’s digital team as the broadcaster looks to develop websites as extensions of its magazine brands.
Williams moves to Worldwide from the BBC’s press office, where she is chief press officer.
Prior to joining the broadcaster, she worked in government comms at the Department for International Development and the Department of Health.
Williams replaces Philip Fleming who has moved to become head of comms for BBC Worldwide’s home entertainment business.
