The 12-month contract was handed to Nexus without a pitch by TTF chief executive John White. He was previously a Nexus client in his former guise as director of the Federation of Bakers.
Nexus associate director Kevin Coles said: ‘We will be profile-building. No one knows who they are, even in the trade. We will also counter some of the misunderstandings that consumers have over timber, and try to encourage its use among architects and other groups.’
The agency has been charged with heightening the visibility of the little-known trade group.
TTF argues the case for timber products as the only truly renewable building resource.
