Returning war heroes welcomed home by special brew

Breckland Council has welcomed home returning troops from Afghanistan with a specially-commissioned ‘Breckland Hero' ale.

The council’s comms team commissioned Iceni Brewery to create the beer. The Norfolk-based council then arranged for it to be available in 17 local pubs, with a donation to the Help our Heroes Campaign and the Army Benevolent Fund for every pint sold. Every soldier in the Light Dragoons was presented with a bottle of the beer.

The returning soldiers were also honoured with a welcome home parade, a fly past of two RAF Tornados, a church service and civic reception that took place yesterday.
