The £85,000 consumer and corporate account will focus on educating the British public about the benefits of barter via charity sponsorship, events and managing Bartercard chairman Wayne Sharpe’s profile.
Magnum will also act as Bartercard’s global agency, and will appoint and manage outsourced agencies in other territories.
The account team of five is being led by Magnum director Dan Ferris.
Ferris said: ‘We’re putting the company up there as having the same profile as something like Barclaycard.’
Bartercard currently has over 55,000 clients in over 14 countries, exchanging surplus goods and services such as hotel rooms.
Magnum has also won Caviar House & Prunier, the seafood chain seen in many airports.
