Letter - Firms are clued up about the TUPE law

While I agree with Tom Wells' assessment of TUPE as an ill-conceived piece of legislation (Analysis, 2 November), the incredible lack of awareness among PROs revealed by his survey is at odds with my experience of industry professionals.

Employers have increasing responsibility for the welfare and rights of employees, and I would be hard pressed to think of a client that is not acutely aware of the TUPE provisions and any potential impact on their business. But that does not mean there is not a job to be done to provide further clarity for the industry.
