Mencap enlists Amazing Media

Mencap has brought in Amazing Media to promote its Little Noise Sessions.

It is the first time the charity has used an agency to promote the series of gigs, which take place on 20 to 28 November with acts including Snow Patrol, Babyshambles, Keane and The Kooks.

The agency will focus on the music, events and student press, with some tie-in to broadcast. It will also build online coverage and will be in charge of managing accreditation, photography and artist interviews. Amazing Media will emphasise the impressive acoustics of Islington’s Union Chapel, where the gigs take place. It will also highlight the intimate nature of the gigs and Radio One presenter Jo Whiley’s involvement.

Mencap senior press and PR officer Lucy Pile said: ‘Last year’s Little Noise Sessions were a real success, but we really want to step it up a gear this year. Amazing Media has been appointed to help take the event to the next level in a market that has become quite crowded, as more charities are looking at music events as effective tools for fundraising and raising awareness.’

The Little Noise Sessions will raise money for Mencap’s Arts Awards scheme, which enables children and young people with a learning disability to take part in local arts projects.

Director Jacquie Chalmers and PR director Lisa Faichney will lead the work at Amazing Media.
