Claire Hibbett becomes the think-tank’s first head of external affairs, overseeing lobbying and media relations.
The Centre for Cities was set up in 2005 to conduct research into city economies, focusing on transport, housing, devolution and migration issues. Until last week, it sat within the Institute for Public Policy Research think-tank, but is now fully independent.
Hibbett was media director at the EOC until September, when it became part of the new Commission for Equality and Human Rights.
