The appointment comes as Wimpy’s new parent company says it is planning to ‘re-energise’ the brand in the UK.
South African company Famous Brands acquired 75 per cent of Wimpy UK for £3m in March 2007.
It has pledged to spend £2m improving the brand’s equity.
The remaining 25% shareholding is owned by Halifax Bank of Scotland.
This week Wimpy introduced a new décor and menu, currently being showcased in one restaurant in Essex, but to be rolled out across the company’s 194 premises in England, Scotland and Wales over the next three years.
Eden Cancan won the work without pitch, after a recommendation from Wimpy’s retained advertising agency, The Mini Mart.
