Sky Poker was launched earlier this year, and allows gamers to play either online or through Sky’s set-top box. Peppercom will help Sky Poker to differentiate itself in an increasingly crowded UK poker market.
Sky Poker head of poker Emma Crowe said Peppercom’s consumer experience, as well as its knowledge of the game, put it ahead of its competitors. Peppercom UK MD Jacki Vause said: ‘We have an extensive knowledge of the poker media in the UK.’
Sky Poker is screened 24 hours a day on Sky channel 846. The channel, part of gaming group Sky Bet, has featured a handful of presenters including Soccer AM’s Helen Chamberlain.
The station has invited glamour models and DJs to play against professionals in a bid to attract viewers. Recent televised games have included a 551-player showdown.
