James Colman set up corporate responsibility consultancy Sancroft with former environment secretary Gummer in 1997 – when Colman was just 25.
Colman has spent the past nine years as Sancroft MD while Gummer is chairman. The agency claims to ‘help businesses increase profitability by improving their corporate responsibility performance’. Colman has managed global accounts for Coca-Cola, Vodafone and BP.
He will start at Luther next week and will focus on environmental issues, as well as the FMCG and retail sectors.
Colman said he was joining Luther ‘at a time when corporate reputation management for clients is increasingly focused on complex issues like sustainable development and the environment’.
Simon Whale, partner at Luther Pendragon, said the hire would help it push ahead with an ‘aggressive growth strategy’.
