The London firm has been handed a retainer to promote the US company’s products to the consumer and trade media. In the run-up to Christmas, Beam will focus on Griffin’s new speakers and its iKaraoke set.

Griffin is best known for its line of iPod accessories, including the controversial iTrip radio transmitter, which was banned in the UK until last year. The Tennessee-based outfit was one of the first to capitalise on the iPod’s moneymaking potential, producing its first line of accessories just months after Apple unveiled its first iPod.

Griffin has expanded its product line to include accessories for iPod competitors such as Microsoft’s Zune and SanDisk’s Sansa. It has also started making armbands, cases and chargers for the newly popular iPhone.

Future Publishing’s T3 magazine recently appointed Beam to promote this week’s T3 Gadget Awards (PRWeek, 3 August).
