Fox will work alongside director of media relations Jackie McQuillan – the two of them effectively replacing Richard Branson’s right-hand man Whitehorn, who is dedicating more time to the Virgin Galactic project (PRWeek, 14 September).

Both roles report to Virgin Management CEO Gordon McCallum.

Fox has been a senior consultant at M: for more than four years, and handled its Virgin Media account City.

As director of financial comms and regulatory affairs, Fox will handle Virgin’s financial comms, IR and regulatory affairs. He will work on secondment from M: until January next year while completing a handover period from the agency.

‘We hope to strengthen our relationship with Virgin,’ said M: co-founder Nick Miles.
