Let's meet at - Bonds Restaurant and Bar

The name's 'Restaurant and Bar', 'Bonds Restaurant and Bar'. While it might sound like a bad pun, Bonds in the heart of the City is a place where its namesake British secret agent could very easily make himself at home.

Located in what was once a banking hall, now attached to the chic Threadneedles Hotel, the bar at Bonds prides itself on serving tantalising cocktails including a delicious chocolate and pear mojito. The well appointed restaurant focuses on modern French cooking. I have every faith the vodka martinis aren't bad either.

Executive chef is the Michelin-starred Barry Tonks. Starters include an imaginative ravioli of lobster in its own cappuccino and ballotine of wild salmon, while mains such as braised pig cheek, squab pigeon and fillet of turbot are richly satisfying. To finish, the peanut butter and Amaretto parfait with a "Tanzanian" chocolate cornet was incredible, though the raspberry souffle is also excellent.

The decor is smart and empowering, while the friendly staff do their utmost to ensure diners and drinkers alike are served without fuss. This could be an ideal place to impress potential clients, and host journalist lunches.
