Firms battle for Tube Lines brief

Six firms are fighting it out for a political monitoring brief with London Underground maintenance contractor Tube Lines, in the week the RMT went on a three-day strike, triggered by the collapse of Metronet.

Burson-Marsteller, Chelgate, De Havilland, Dodds, Edelman and Insight Public Affairs have been shortlisted.

The successful agency will keep Tube Lines up to speed on developments at the Greater London Authority and the Department for Transport, and will track its media reputation.

The account has been held by FD-LLM for the past three years. LLM director Simon Elliott said that the agency declined to repitch for the work.
