tech firm Six Degrees. The account is believed to be worth upwards of £100,000, and includes B2B and sponsorship briefs.
The agency will focus on promoting the Tokyo-based company to trade media as a UK leader for business printing needs. The Whiteoaks team, led by account manager Scott Clarke, will target the architecture, design, health and leisure press.
It will also provide PR support for OKI’s sponsorship of Premier League football club Portsmouth FC. While the bulk of media relations work to promote this sponsorship will occur during the coming football season, Whiteoaks is already working with OKI to promote the team’s involvement in local charity initiatives to regional media.
Portsmouth FC footballers are backing the OKI Street Arts Community initiative, encouraging school-aged children to get involved in the arts.
Whiteoaks will also promote the team’s involvement in the Premier League’s Creating Chances campaign, which kicks off this September and sees high-profile players such as Sol Campbell taking part in community fundraising projects.
The agency is also raising awareness of the ‘OKI Street Sixes’, a six-a-side youth football league, aimed at keeping children from Hampshire housing estates out of trouble.
OKI joins a tech client roster that includes Honeywell and software firm Autodesk.
