Cody dips toe in UK junior exec waters

Making the most of England's wet and unpleasant land, and no doubt inspired by PRWeek's own job-swap premise (PRWeek, 31 March 2006), Peppercom CEO Steve Cody crossed the pond to England last week, ready to spend a day as a UK junior account exec.

A similar exchange at the agency's US headquarters resulted in the agency outsourcing some admin tasks to prevent junior execs from falling behind.

Cody reported he liked the UK office's dog 'Norbert', and that he was struck by how late account handlers had to work to wait for the West Coast to wake up.

Account executive Sophie Hanson, who journeyed the other way, spent her morning pounding the miles in the gym and said 'all one really needs is a blackberry, a phone and a healthy dose of self confidence'.

Diary wonders whether they swapped wages for the day too?
