Biss Lancaster to work for MAN, Brewers Fayre

Euro RSCG Biss Lancaster this week landed wide-ranging briefs from a German truckmaker and an English restaurant chain.

German truckmaker MAN has brought in the agency to improve its profile among the UK business community. MAN gains a large share of corporate press coverage in Germany and Europe, but wants to increase its UK share.

‘MAN is a fundamental part of the global supply chain and is an important voice that needs to be heard in the media,’ said Euro RSCG executive director Andrew Robinson, who will head the account. Robinson reports to Munich-based MAN head of media relations Andreas Lampersbach.

The MAN Group is one of Europe’s biggest of commercial vehicle manufacturers.

It hit the headlines in the past year with a £7bn bid for Scandinavian rival Scania.

SEPARATELY... Biss Lancaster has been handed two six-figure accounts from hospitality firm Whitbread to handle ­national consumer PR for restaurant brands Beefeater and Brewers Fayre.

The agency has been ­engaged for 12 months and has separate teams working on the two brands.

Beefeater is being positioned as the ‘home of the grill’, focusing on gourmet grill and expert cooking, whereas Brewers Fayre will be more focused on families. As part of the Brewers Fayre account, the team will also help to launch 100 independently branded restaurants across the UK this year.

Although Biss Lancaster has formerly worked on Brewers Fayre, more recently Whitbread has been hand­ling its PR in-house. The accounts will be led by board director Melissa Hinds.
