BHF swoops to fill press roles

The British Heart Foundation has bolstered its in-house press team by hiring a Now magazine journalist and Macmillan Cancer Support's celebrity officer.

Emily Attwood, features writer at Now magazine, has joined as press officer to work on key national fundraising campaigns.

Thelma Mensah has stepped into the role of celebrity manager, having previously worked in the same role at Macmillan Cancer Support. She works alongside the charity’s celebrity booker to manage BHF’s celebrity portfolio.

The charity promoted a podcast during last month’s Chest Pain Awareness Day as part of its ongoing ‘Doubt Kills’ campaign. The campaign was aimed at helping people recognise heart attack symptoms and explain the importance of calling 999 promptly.
