Boisseau joins Virgo as a director after leaving WPP-owned Shire London, now Shire Health PR, in April after six years.
In her new role she will work across both ethical and consumer health and direct accounts for Cervarix, a forthcoming human papilloma virus vaccine being produced by GlaxoSmithKline. She will also focus on Mircera, Roche’s treatment for anemia associated with chronic renal failure.
During her time at Shire Health, Boisseau led Pfizer’s Nicorette account.
At Virgo, she reports to joint MD Angie Wiles. ‘I’d been at Shire for six years and it was the right time for me to move,’ said Boisseau. In addition to hiring Boisseau, Virgo has announced two senior level promotions.
Associate director Lisa Rodwell has been promoted to the newly created role of director of consumer health.
She joined in June 2005 and leads on the Nurofen account globally, as well as Boehringer Ingelheim’s consumer health portfolio including Buscopan IBS Relief, Dulco-lax and DulcoEase.
Wiles said: ‘This promotion is in recognition of her work, but it also formalises the work we do in consumer health. This does not mean it will be a separate division.’
