Nayyar hopes to be Tory choice

Simon Nayyar, recently installed MD of fledgling agency Citigate Dewe Rogerson Public Policy, was poised this week to find out if he will be a Conservative candidate in the next general election.

Nayyar has spent the last few weeks fashioning a bid to be the Tory candidate for Sunderland Central – a constituency that has been newly created as a result of boun­dary changes.

One of three wannabe candidates, he has set up a website – – and drawn up ‘nine pledges for a safer, more successful Sunderland’.

As PRWeek went to press, the Tory candidate was due to be chosen at a public meeting.

Nayyar joined Citigate Dewe Rogerson last month.
