Hit or Miss... Homer instinct

Media agency Beatwax gained widespread coverage this week after cheekily painting a 180ft outline of Homer Simpson waving a doughnut next to the Cerne Abbas giant, an ancient fertility symbol in Dorset. The stunt, which sparked outrage among pagans, was to publicise the movie The Simpsons, out on 27 July. It was BBC Worldwide's most emailed story and gained coverage on Sky News, GMTV and Richard & Judy, plus most of the national press. It also gained international coverage.
