In a blow to Camargue, the agency will no longer be retained as the building merchant’s corporate agency. The firm’s UK external comms manager Ian Oliver said the split was prompted by a ‘re-evaluation of the way Wolseley does PR’.
He added that Camargue would be invited to re-pitch on a ‘reduced basis’. Camargue director Jo Lloyd said that the agency would consider pitching for corporate work on the various brands under the Wolseley UK banner, which include Plumb Center, Hire Center and the Sustainable Building Center.
Wolseley UK, part of FTSE 100-listed Wolseley plc, is looking for an in-house external comms advisor. Brunswick will continue to provide financial PR support for Wolseley plc.
