Marine Bill must come says WWF

Wildlife charity WWF has stepped up its lobbying as it attempts to persuade the Government to introduce a Marine Bill.

The charity invited MPs to a screening of a short film on the issue this week, to be hosted by Labour MP Paddy Tipping at Portcullis House.

Some 30 MPs – including Conservative Peter Ainsworth, Labour’s Emily Thornberry and Lib Dem Norman Baker – had indicated that they would attend the screening as PRWeek went to press.

Senior public Affairs officer Russell Cooper said: ‘It is vital that the Government introduces a Marine Bill to reform the way our seas are managed.’
