Whittle to head law firm’s comms

The former head of PR for media and editorial at Reuters has been appointed head of comms at a top law firm.

Moira Whittle will oversee internal and external comms at 300-strong law firm Barlow Lyde & Gilbert LLP.

The post had been vacant since the beginning of the year following former media and comms manager Richard Gerrard’s departure.

Whittle left Reuters in October 2006 and has been freelancing since. She will report to Barlow Lyde & Gilbert senior partner Richard Dedman, and will be responsible for an in-house team of three.

Bell Pottinger is currently providing external PR support on a project basis.

A former press association journalist, Whittle has also worked as head of press for the London Borough of Camden and for corporate consultancy Brown Lloyd James.
