PA chief opts to step down at WS

One of Weber Shandwick's top lobbyists is striking out on his own.

Malcolm Gooderham, deputy MD of corporate comms and public affairs, handed in his resignation a few days ago. He would only say that he would be ‘working as a consultant’, but did not rule out the possibility of setting up his own agency. He said he would remain in the post until October.

Gooderham is a former press secretary to Michael Portillo. He joined Bell Pottinger Public Affairs in October 2003 and moved to Weber Shandwick Public Affairs in January 2004. In his current role, he has overseen accounts for Ikea, L’Oréal and Nestlé.
