Catalysis to front key mobile brief

Tech agency Catalysis has won a substantial contract to handle comms for Symbian, the mobile operating system behind the Sony Walkman phone, the Nokia Navigator and a host of other ‘smartphones’.

Catalysis pitched against the incumbent, Burson-Marsteller, and four other agencies on a shortlist that was whittled down from an initial credentials roster of 15 potential agencies.

The account is understood to be worth six figures. It will be led by Catalysis
associate director David Matthews, who has been handed a corporate and B2B brief for handling the company. Matthews and his team will report to Symbian’s VP of marcoms Lucinda Barlow.
