The £7.7bn deal sees Brunswick secure a third consecutive month in the top three. But this month’s table is the first since April in which neither FD nor Finsbury have appeared in the leading trio.
Instead, Cardew Group has been propelled to second spot with five deals worth a total of £17.9bn. Cardew’s biggest deal was the sale of Scottish Power to Spanish firm Iberdrola.
Cardew advised the Scottish firm, while Citigate Dewe Rogerson worked on the Spanish side. This work saw the latter agency move into third spot in June’s chart. Finsbury sits in fourth, having worked on the MyTravel Thomas Cook merger, advising ShakespeareCo – a group formed by MyTravel and KarstadtQuelle for the purpose of effecting the merger.
Brazil makes a rare foray into fifth spot, while FD slips to sixth. Maitland holds seventh place following its work on Health Care Property Investors’ purchase of Slough Estates US. Tulchan. Communications, College Hill and M:Communications round off the top ten.
Although down on the impressive figures of earlier this year, the overall deal value is still ahead of June 2006, also topped by Brunswick.
