The HTA – set up to regulate the storage, use and disposal of human bodies, organs and tissue – wants to raise the profile of the new laws governing the controversial research area.
‘The new law that comes into effect on 5 July is designed to make stem cell research more effective,’ said head of media Heath Jeffries, who joined the HTA a month ago in a newly-created role. The campaign will target trade and general media.
Jeffries reports into director of comms Shaun Griffin.
Supporters of stem cell research say it could hold the key to cures for a wide range of serious diseases, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
