Imli, serving modern Indian tapas, is a vibrant yet relaxed restaurant situated in the heart of Soho.
From the moment you enter the door, you are greeted by extremely friendly and obliging staff. A modern layout, with Indian craft featuring dominantly, conjures up a friendly and animated dining experience.
The menu certainly does not lack originality and caters for a broad range of customer with spicy and non-spicy palettes.
Dishes served include an Imli Risotto (seasonal vegetables tossed with pickling spices, served on mushroom risotto) and Chicken Haryali (chicken cooked in a smooth blend of cashews, coriander and green chilli sauce served with flatbread or rice). Particularly impressive was the widespread choice of blended fruit beverages - a personal recommendation would be the mango and passionfruit smoothie.
The restaurant has a soft and subtle ambience but seating is tight and not intimate, so be warned. The only minor downside is that it closes earlier than most Indian restaurants.
All in all, it was excellent cuisine with a soothing atmosphere. The restaurant is tremendous value for money and I would highly recommend it for client meetings.
