Letter - Time for stereotyped blondes to bite back

My sympathies went out to David Bull when he spoke about his struggle to be taken seriously after being stereotyped as the 'blond, stupid television presenter' (8 June), as I myself find it difficult getting people past the stereotype of the 'blonde, stupid PR girl'.

I would imagine that if David's fellow television presenters went round reinforcing that stereotype by talking about television 'being populated by blondes who totter around doing nothing', as he described those in my profession, it would be all the more difficult.

I won't be taking his comments to heart too much, though - in the words of Dolly Parton: 'I know I'm not dumb. I also know I'm not blonde.' I imagine Dr Bull can relate to this on both counts.
