Brazen promotes for acting MD job

Brazen has promoted an account director to an acting managing director role as both its co-founders prepare for maternity leave.

The Manchester agency’s owner Nina Wheeler and director Emma Beck are to each take four months maternity leave, then rejoin the company on a part-time, and eventually a full-time basis.

Rick Guttridge will work closely with finance director Richard Whipp in the acting MD role.

Guttridge’s PR career began at Connectpoint PR – also based in Manchester – where he worked for three and a half years. He moved to Brazen three years ago.

It has also emerged that Brazen made two members of its events and sampling division Brazen Live redundant when a contact reached its conclusion at the beginning of the year.

The agency is now 27-strong.
