Simon Cohen, MD at ‘values-driven’ PR agency Global Tolerance, asks PROs not to ‘clamber on the ethical bandwagon’.

Instead, he recommends they embody the ethical values they are pushing for on behalf of their clients, and focus on their clients’ products’ real benefits, rather than falsely created ethical credentials.

In this week’s video podcast Cohen says that PR agencies should have ‘pause to reflect’ on the power they have gained through their involvement with the media.

He also urges PR not turn a blind eye to this ‘dubious practice – that does a disservice to clients and perpetuates the impression that PR is synonymous with lies and deceit’.
