NI health minister appoints adviser

Fishburn Hedges consultant Philip Robinson has landed a post as a special adviser to the health minister in Northern Ireland’s new assembly.

Robinson will take up the role in June, working for Ulster Unionist MP Michael McGimpsey.

Belfast-born Robinson served as press secretary to David Trimble and the Ulster Unionist Party from 1999 to 2001. He said: ‘I know Michael very well; we have worked together in the past and I’m looking forward to the chance to do so again.’

Robinson joined Fishburn Hedges less than a year ago. Prior to this he was corporate affairs manager at Three.

Health provision is a key issue for the new Northern Ireland assembly.
