Firefly beats Citigate for TomorrowNow account

Software company TomorrowNow has handed Firefly Communications a £200,000 pan-European PR brief.

Firefly beat Citigate Dewe Rogerson to the account, which will include crisis support, devising and coordinating a pan-European strategy, and raising brand awareness in the UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands.

TomorrowNow offers maintenance support to organisations that use software provided by PeopleSoft and JD Edwards customers, which are owned by Oracle.

The Texas-headquartered software maintenance provider – which was acquired by German software giant SAP in 2005 – is currently the subject of a lawsuit, filed by arch-rival Oracle in March.

Oracle’s accusations include claims that SAP and TomorrowNow illicitly downloaded data about customers whose accounts were expired or soon to expire.

The account will be headed by Firefly CEO Claire Walker, and will involve the agency’s offices in London, Munich and Paris, as well as partner agency MarcommIT in the Netherlands.

‘Oracle and SAP prefer to provide their own maintenance but TomorrowNow will do it at 50 per cent of the price,’ said Walker.
