Fishburn Hedges loses BMF remit

The British Marine Federation, the boating industry’s trade body, has stopped using Fishburn Hedges and is close to taking on a new agency.

The association is believed to have shortlisted three firms for the account, which will include lobbying on the recently published Marine Bill and campaigning against cuts to government funding of Britain’s inland waterways.

Fishburn Hedges, which held account for six years, is not on the shortlist. The agen­cy was hit last year by the ­departure after 12 years of its head of public affairs Graham McMillan (PRWeek, 21 September 2006) and is yet to recruit a replacement.
