Raleigh gears up for anniversary

Raleigh International has appointed a fundraising development manager to the newly created role of head of fundraising and comms.

The charity has brought in Teresa Fitzgerald, who previously spent four years at Richard House Children's Hospice. She started in the new role this week, reporting to CEO Stacey Adams.

Raleigh International runs overseas adventure and challenge expeditions designed to develop leadership skills among young people.

Fitzgerald is charged with raising the charity's profile among its alumni, developing relationships with corporates and major donors, and setting up a new fundraising function.

CEO Adams said: ‘We have taken out 30,000 young people over the past 22 years and all of them are passionate about Raleigh. Teresa will build our relationship with our alumni and help us prepare for our 25th anniversary in 2009.'
