Tribal takes Geronimo work

Geronimo Communications has shifted its interim council PR function to its parent company, following the exit of Gez Sagar.

Sagar, the former press secretary to John Prescott, has quit as director of interim management nine months after taking the role - which involved leading the local government practice (PRWeek, 7 July 2006).

The recruitment of temporary PROs for local authorities will now be handled by Tribal Resourcing, part of the parent company Tribal Group.

‘It was felt that Tribal already did something very similar, recruiting at a senior level across local government - so they have the best skills to continue this work,' explained board director Sarah Harris.

Geronimo will continue to handle campaigns for local authorities, Harris added. This work will now be led by director Peter Gilheany.

The pool of 20 associates used by the interim (council) management section will now work directly with Tribal. However, Geronimo will continue to handle interim management for non-departmental government bodies.

Sagar has changed career, having joined the video production company Silverfish.

When he assumed the role last summer, he took the reins from former board director Marina Pirotta, who retired last summer. Sagar was unavailable for comment.
