Taylor moves up Novartis ladder

Jo Taylor has taken over as head of comms and public affairs at Novartis UK's vaccines division.

The business was acquired from US manufacturer Chiron a year ago. The head of comms and public affairs post has been empty since the acquisition.

Taylor had previously been working as director of patient affairs for Novartis Pharma - a global role which saw her set up the Health Equality Europe think tank. Before that, she spent five years as director of corporate affairs for Novartis UK.

Her move is part of Novartis' comms restructure (PRWeek, 27 April). A PR manager, Caroline Harkness, is also joining later this month. Harkness was previously freelancing, and prior to that was a senior account executive at Virgo Health.

Taylor reports to the vaccines division's commercial director David Boucher, California-based global head of comms Eric Althof and the global PA head Marguarite Baxter in Washington.
