CABE lures Indigo's Ward to new PA adviser post

The Government's urban design watchdog has bolstered its lobbying firepower with the hire of a new PA adviser.

The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment has brought in David Ward from Indigo Public Affairs to the newly created post.

Ward will join the five-strong PA team at CABE, overseen by head of PA Adrian Harvey. He will concentrate on the public sector, with a particular focus on the Building Schools for the Future programme - the biggest single government investment in school buildings for 50 years. It aims to rebuild or renew every secondary school in England over 10-15 years.

Ward will lobby the Department for Education and Skills to ensure that new buildings meet CABE's criteria of being ‘safe, beautiful and efficient to run'.

Ward, who started at CABE this week, previously spent two years as an account manager at Indigo. Prior to that, he was a parliamentary assistant to former Labour defence minister Ivor Caplin.
