Grogan to strike deal with APPC

John Grogan is to meet with the APPC next month to thrash out his plans for making the lobbying industry more transparent.

The Labour MP will meet with members on 14 May, as speculation mounts over his next move.

Grogan has previously said he wants to ‘examine how the system of self-regulation has operated... and how government, Parliament and lobbyists might strengthen it'.

He has been considering the tabling of an Early Day Motion in the House of Commons. He is also understood to be pushing for the Public Administration Committee to conduct an investigation.

A senior PA source said the APPC would urge Grogan to ‘recognise the excellence of the current code'.
