DoH director Tee defects to NHS

The Department of Health acting director of comms Matt Tee has quit to become chief executive of NHS Direct.

Tee will leave the issue-riddled department in the summer. ‘It is good for someone with a comms background to get a chief executive role; it sends out the right messages,' he said.

Before joining the DoH, Tee was director of business development at the information provider Dr Foster.

His departure paves the way for the return of Sian Jarvis, who has been on maternity leave since 2006 (PRWeek, 17 September 2005).
